Dr. Barroqueiro is a dedicated art educator who comes from a family of art teachers. She earned three degrees, all in art education, a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut State University and a Master’s and Doctorate from the University of Illinois. Dr. Barroqueiro is a retired professor of Art Education from Illinois State University and an award-winning educator, recognized with numerous teaching accolades, including ISU’s prestigious University Teaching Initiative Award. She has published extensively in scholarly journals and presented her work at prominent professional conferences both nationally and internationally. With a deep love for teaching and sharing her knowledge, Daniella has created a learning environment that reflects her commitment to nurturing artistic expression in people of all ages and abilities.

Dr. Daniella Barroqueiro founded The Little Art School in March 2019.
The studio is situated along historic Route 66, in the 400 block of Main St. amidst charming boutiques, coffee shops, and art galleries. The building itself has character, and the studio is decorated in fun and quirky ways, offering a delightful and visually pleasant experience for all who visit. The spacious, well-equipped classrooms are designed to inspire creativity, with comfortable workspaces and ample materials for a wide range of artistic projects. The layout supports both group collaboration and individual study, creating a welcoming environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity.
